Helmbold's Famous Franks
When you think of hot dogs, sausages, and wursts, the countries that usually come to mind are Germany or Austria. After all, frankfurters were named after Frankfurt, Germany, where it is said they were first made during the Middle Ages. But you don't have to travel all the way to Europe to buy the best wursts around...they're right here in Troy, New York.

Since 1913, Fritz Helmbold Inc. has been manufacturing hot dogs the "old fashioned" way, using the finest, freshest ingredients. They are made from beef, pork, and assorted natural spices...just the way Fritz Helmbold first made them.

Then they are cooked in a hickory smoker, using real hickory and hard woods. There are both natural-casing and skinless varieties, and the hot dogs come in several different sizes - cocktail, small, medium, and large, up to a foot long. Helmbolds frankfurters are sold in the company's storefront on Industrial Road off Cambell Avenue in Troy, and in grocery stores, supermarkets, delicatessens, and restaurants in Albany, NY, and throughout the upstate New York Capital Region. Our natural-casing hot dogs are the best in the world!

At Helmbolds, we take the quality of our meats very seriously. Our modern, USDA-inspected facilities maintain the highest standards for such things as the cleanliness of the plant and the maintenance of proper temperatures in freezers and coolers. To insure the safest handling of our meat products, all machinery is broken down and cleaned every few hours.
